You ever have that band you might kind of like ... what you've heard on the radio sounded good.

And you meet someone who has that band as one of their top five, ever?

Yeah, me too.

That's how I got into the Alan Parsons Project. Granted, it was a dumb-sounding name for a band who made some great, melodic, hypnotic music with stories ripped from the headlines of mythology, history, and fantasy packaged in a way that was radio friendly without being a sell-out.

My roommate when I was in the air force was a huge Alan Parsons Project fan. He had, at the time, most or all of the cassettes, and we made mix tapes of each other's collections, and he really turned me on to some kick-ass Alan Parson Project songs. This one, however, was one I knew of ... cause it was kind of a hit.

And it just seems fitting to be today's song ... and video ... of the day.

Swig Tooth - Live Video

Trying to clean out the archives of unprocessed material!

This is a legendary Swig Tooth show that was supposed to be a tune-up for Comfest 2006, but due to 'scheduling issues' at the club, ten ... all bands were there to play during a five hour window.

Each band, with the exception of the 'headliner' ... some shit-ass band with a label and a rider that said they got their full hour, agreed to play 20 minutes.

Of the 40-odd people there that night, 30 were there to see Swig Tooth. We got robbed.

Video Blog - 'express lane' ?

So here's my first video blog.

Not sure why I never thought about doing a video blog before.

I have all the cool tools to do it.

And the skill and knowledge to use those tools.

But for some reason, I never did.

Until now.

So here it is.

Word of warning: If you're on dialup, I don't recommend trying to watch this.

It's only a minute in length, but I'm on my old laptop that doesn't have the cool editing software, so it's a 38mb QuickTime file.
